So for the last year everytime something goes wrong or Ev is upset about something happening he says NUTS. WHAT was my first reaction??!! Where did he learn that from? Me and Scott never say Nuts, so I thought it was pretty weird. I didn't know if I should tell him that that word is a naughty word or not. I guess I decided that it was fine because I never told him not to say it and believe me there are plenty of other words I don't want him saying.

I never really figured out where he picked it up from, however I did find someone else who says it. This last weekend when we were in Salt Lake at Grandma and Grandpa Smiths house we were on the computer trying to get to a website. When the computer was acting up Grandpa said NUtS. WHAT I thought again! Grandpa really uses the word nuts or ah nuts. I was then captivated and heard him use it quite a few more times that weekend. I just had to laugh inside. I know Evan never learned it from Grandpa, but it's super funny. What are the chances that they both say the word NUTs when frustrated.

I know when u have kids u tend to talk about bodily functions. A few days ago we were in Utah leaving Ann and John Clyde's house to go to Grandma and Grandpa Smiths. While buckling Evan in and saying our goodbyes, Evan yelled that he had swallowed a penny. He was crying and we told him he would have to wait to go poop for it to come out. He was super upset. After four days of checking his poop he finally passed the penny yesterday morning. I was sleeping and awoke to Evan yelling "dad dad the penny came out in my poop". Evan was super excited and we were relieved!

The Birthday Festivities Continue

Hannah's birthday has turned into a week long event. Mom took Hannah to Build a Bear for her birthday gift. I thought she wanted a kitty, however she picked out a multicolored pink bear that was kinda ugly. I tried to talk her out of it and gave her some other choices. A lamb or a Hello Kitty. She went back and forth but finally settled on the lamb. She was afraid to step on the button to fill her up, so Ev helped her out. She was so excited when the lamb was full that she felt safe to pick a heart and put it in the Lamb. She then went with Ev to give her a bath and really liked brushing the wool. It was almost 9o'clock, so I had to pick out an outfit for her quick. I was totally undecided, but grabbed something. Now that the lamb is all dressed with clothes a bracelet and bows, I have to say that it is pretty cute.

On Thursday night we had a combined birthday party for Hannah and Mia. We went to the Orange County Great Park. We had a bunch of family and friends. It was zebra themed and turned out super cute. We made it picnic style, had games and the kids rode the free carousel. It was definitely a far drive for some, but ever one showed up which was great. I love having parties for my kids because I feel like it is a great way to get all of my family and friends together. It's hard to see everyone separate when I only have such a short time in California. And I love for my kids to play with their cousins and friends kids. Hannah turns TWO

My little baby girl turned two on Sunday. We had to have a little celebration for her on her BIG day with Daddy and our good friends. However when you look at the magnificent cake you would have thought the party was going to be HUGE. Our daddy does not disappoint. It was a work of art that took 10 hours and consumed in 10 minutes.

We couldn't get the kids to wait to open presents or blow out candles. I think Julie and Evan did everything for Hannah. They opened her presents and Evan blew out her candles before we were done singing. Poor Girl. Good thing she didn't mind.

After eating cake and opening gifts the kids played crazy for a bit and then watched Sleeping Beauty. Talk about scary, I haven't seen that movie in ages and it is definitely dark.

On to happier things, her is what I love about my little girl:

- she is feisty
- she is a daredevil
- she wants to do everything herself
- she is a great talker
- she is always trying to copy her brother
- she doesn't really hit people but will turn around and yell STOP IT!
- she loves loves babies (dolls and real babies)
- she loves kittens
- she always picks out a bow to wear, (although i usually change the one she picks out)
- she loves shoes (a girl after my own heart)
- she holds her arms and says the best prayers
- she likes sunglasses, play jewelery, purses and hats
- she loves to take baths and showers
- she loves to brush her teeth
- she is a good sleeper
- she will eat almost anything if u are eating it
- she loves fruit, especially strawberries
- she loves to dance and sing
- she always says hi to people
- when she says hi mommy in her high pitched voice over and over
and my favorite
- her seriousness especially when the camera is on!

So I thought I would just forget about posting all the other old stuff I wanted to post and just give a quick recap of Dec through March.

Life has been crazy back at work. I haven't been able to do what I really should do or want to do with updating pics, blogs and scrapbooks. By the time the kids go to bed all I want to do is sit and watch a show or read.

So much has happened and the kids have changed so much, especially Hannah. She is quite the talker. She says so many words and now will try to say anything you say. I am amazed that she isn't even two yet. Evan didn't talk till at least two and half, so it's totally different for us. She has to do anything to keep up with her rough and tough big brother.

Evan has been in Soccer since October and loves it. It took awhile for him to actually want to stay out on the field the whole time. We also had several issues with him learning to listening and not bumping or hitting other kids. I have had to learn to let it go and let the coaches handle the situation. A couple of weeks ago he and another boy got into a full on fight. The other boy was much bigger and picked Ev up and threw him on the ground. Ev got up pushed him and the boy did it again. I know this might be awful but I was sitting in the stands kinda laughing with a friend, while I watched the whole thing. I thought, you know Ev needs to learn his lesson without me always running out to take him out of the game. Its part of sports and he will have to deal with the consequence and answer to his coach.

I can't wait for Spring Break and I am looking forward to a summer full of Vacations, Birthday Parties and no work. It pays to be a teacher:) Even if we loose 8 percent of our pay next year? Yes I love my job and wouldn't be doing anything else.

Adventure Dome

This weekend my good friend Randi invited us to Adventure Dome because one of her students was having a birthday party. I thought sure, that would be fun, besides I haven't been there in about 16 years. Boy was I in for a shock. All I can say is that it was gangsta. It was super crowded and definitely not the Disneyland atmosphere I was used to. Good thing Evan doesn't know how to read or cares about what people are wearing.

Other than my shock, Evan had a good time riding a few kid rides, staring at the scary roller coaster and playing a few arcade games. I think my highlight was playing Evan in a game of air hockey. The look on his face was priceless. I was happy to get a few pictures, especially because he is at the stage where he will smile for a picture. You know I LOVE that!

Before Christmas Scott was at Fry's Electronics buying me a present. He lost track of the kids, went to look for them and found them in the stereo room rocking out. Scott said he watched them for a long time and when he turned around to leave there were 8 employees all standing around watching and clapping for Ev. I think this is one of the funniest things I have ever seen, but of course I am biased because they are my kids. Enjoy!

Wedding Day - October 23, 2010

We are so excited for my brother to be married to a wonderful woman. This was their big day. The temple sealing was amazing and always reminds me of the commitment I have made to my own husband. I wish Jeremy and Sarah the very best in their bright future. We love them and are blessed to have been apart of their day.

Dallas ZOO

Our family headed to Texas in late October for my brother Jeremy's wedding. Scott and I got to Texas a day later than everyone, so we were on our own for a day while the rest of the fam was in Gilmore.

After trying to figure out what to do with the kids in Dallas we ended up at the Dallas Zoo. Admission was really inexpensive so I thought, well this is going to be a small zoo with minimal animals. NOT SO! I was amazed, the zoo was one of the best I have ever been to.

This is funny because we thought that there was just a big hallway of pictures of animals from the Savanna. WOW, we were totally wrong because they had a HUGE exhibit of real animals, including elephants, giraffe, boars, hyenas, zebras, lions and many more. It was the biggest exhibit with tons of large animals. And the habitats were amazing.

I thought this was hysterical. A gorilla was laying on his stomach throwing leaves on himself and then pounding his fist on his stomach. What a Man. Evan was not interested at all.

A Meerkat

These Meerkats were Evans best friend. Every time he called for them one would come running right up to him. He loved it and could have spent hours there watching them. I think they really wanted Evan's food in his hand.

Evan actually got to feed the giraffe. Scott bought some lettuce from a stand and the lady said they probably would come up because they weren't that hungry, but one did! We were on an elevated platform, Evan just stuck his hand out with the lettuce and a giraffe came right up to him and ate from his hand. It was a coolest thing ever! Unfortunately my camera had just died, so I couldn't capture the moment.

If you are ever in Dallas I would highly recommend going to the Zoo and taking part in the giraffe feeding. Such a neat experience!

SNOW Day

On Monday we were all home together as a family. We decided we wanted to do something fun with the kids, so we headed up to Mount Charleston for a day of snow play. It had been raining, but I saw no signs of snow on the mountain and thought we would be disappointed when we got there. Boy was I wrong! We hit BIG snow. It was amazing and I am always in awe at the sight of snow only being 15 miles outside of the Vegas desert.

I was a little nervous with Scott driving in it and was afraid we would get stuck. We saw a few cars stuck on the roads but our 4wheel drive handled it fabulously. We went to a hill that we had been to previously to go sledding on, however there was a big sign saying closed, NO SNOW PLAY, so we found a place to pull over and let the kids just play.

There was a small hill that Scott pushed Evan off of. Hannah had no desire to be in the sled, but enjoyed playing in the snow. They both loved throwing and eating the snow and Evan was making a snow angel at one point. I don't know where he learned that, but it was pretty funny.

Daddy was really cold and was ready to get back in the car. Evan did not want to go and keep yelling I want to eat snow. Dad had to tell him we would find another spot to play, but of course we didn't, it was just a ploy to get him back in the car. Instead Scott thought it would be fun to go off roading which we did, against my wishes. Evan thought it was pretty cool. Off roading is just not for me. I told Ev that maybe daddy would get a motorcycle and they could together. I will stay home.

Anyways our little adventure turned out as an awesome family FUN day!

Holiday Spectacular

I know I am way behind and want to post my brothers wedding and thanksgiving before the year ends, but I had to post tonight's festivities first.

I have been wanting to take the kids to the Springs Preserve for their big Holiday Spectacular and since the rain finally let up today we went for it. It was the last night and boy was it crowded. We waited in long lines for Santa, riding reindeer, food and a BIG Bounce Slide. The kids were really good and we only had one melt down when Evan couldn't ride the train because it closed as we were pulling up to the line. Bummer, maybe next year. The kids also got to make a craft and run around the grassy area where there was snow blowing. We will definitely be going next year and hopefully Hannah won't start bawling when she sees Santa Clause.

My Little Nephew Devin turned ONE on October 24th. However that was the day Jeremy and Sarah were married so my sister planned a big birthday party on Saturday, October 30th at her house in Arizona. She has been planning his Halloween Birthday Party since the day he was born. If you know my sister then you know she is a die hard Halloween Fanatic! Her House was all decked out. It looked like the Haunted Mansion at Disneyland. For the party she made each family take a picture with a pirate eye patch and earring. All three of our families dressed up like pirates to go along with Julie's theme. We all ate, played and socialized. The party was super spooktacular!

Next we all went trick or treating around my sister's ward neighborhood. It was the best trick or treating I have seen since I was little. Hannah was a rock star. She loved every minute of it. It only took her 2 house to figure out what to do. She went to over 30 houses and never got tired. Evan pooped out half way through and was ready to go home. What a surprise, my crazy kid who loves candy gave up first.

I almost didn't make the drive to Arizona for such a short weekend, but I was definitely glad that I did. We had a blast. Sorry you missed it Dad.

At school someone had built a gingerbred hauted house, so I figured that would be a fun thing to do with Ev. I looked everywhere and finally found a kit at Wal-Mart. We had tons of fun building it, of course with dad's help. Evan didn't even eat 1 candy. He really was more interested in painting and piping the frosting. I had to learn to reliquish some control and let him do the project since it was intened for him. But I have to say it turned out pretty good for a three year old, with a little help from mom and dad :)

Pumpkin Patch

October was a busy Month! This is the first post of many October festivities. We headed to the local pumpkin patch where we spent lots of money enjoying the rides,a petting zoo, treats and leaving with 2 pumpkins, one of which was already rotting. (i had no idea when i bought it). Evan loved the Big Blow Up Slide and Obstacle Course. He would have gone a million times if I had enough tickets. Hannah really wanted to join him, but was to little and she was definitely upset by this. However she did love the petting zoo and kept running back to see the animals.

Do you ever have those moments? Tonight has been one of those nights from Hell. I put the kids in the bath and began to pick up a little around the house. I went to check on them and Hannah had pooped in the tub. I then moved them to the other tub to clean out the first one and what do you know a few minutes later Hannah pooped in the second tub. Later, I was putting Hannah in bed and walked out of her room when low in behold there was Evan with his clothes stripped off and pull-up on the ground. A little way down the hall there was a pile of poop. UGH! WHY ME. When is my child going to learn to go potty on the toilet? I know this might seem lame to be complaining about an incident like this, but let me tell you this is not the first. These cleaning up poop extravaganzas have been happening quite frequently the last several months between myself and Scott.

I just needed to vent because I don't have the time or patience to be cleaning up poop. I have papers to grade, sub plans to write and all I want to do is watch 1 TV show. PLEASE HELP ME!

This is what I came home to one day last week. The kids having a blast in the backyard with the hose. Dad also made them a fort and Ev really really wanted me to join him. So after a long day at work this is what we did. Living like a kid!

Since We've Moved

We finally moved back to Las Vegas the first week in August. I can't believe it's already the middle of September. Now that LIFE has just started for me once again, I feel like the last year in California flew by. We miss our daily outings to Disneyland, Sea World, the zoo, the park, Chuck e Cheese and the Science Museum. We especially miss being with Grandma & Grandpa and all of our relatives

Our Life has gone back to old ways. Going to work separate hours, having the kids with Scott for 5 hours, the babysitters for 4 hours and back with me for the last 4 hours. It definitely has been a change for me to go back to work and not spend the whole day with my kids. I think it has been an adjustment for Scott and the kids as well. But it will all work out and we are just gratefully to be in our Home, Happy, Healthy and have jobs.

I am enjoying being back in the classroom, despite all the extra HOME-work. Scott is glad to be back at his old job running the Bakery & pastry portion of the restaurant. The kids are adjusting to their new lives and growing each day. Evan is learning new words and phrases all the time. Hannah has started to walk which we love seeing. She is learning to feed herself with a spoon and is trying to say words everyday. She almost has down Peek-A-Boo.

I have included some pictures since our move.

The first 3 are from my Grandma Bones funeral. She died unexpectedly the night before our move. We were sad that we weren't able to see her one last time, but we know she is in good company.

The next few are of Hannah trying to feed herself. What a mess! We just laughed and thought it was so cute.

A week ago today my little guy turned 3. We celebrated his birthday with family and friends at Zoomars petting zoo. Evan loved being at zoo surrounded by all the animals, especially the guinea pigs. I think all the other kids had a super good time and it was stress free for me. It was defiantly a party I would recommend.

Father's Day

I know, I can't believe I am posting Fathers Day way late, but I had to. Every Father should be remembered and this Fathers Day was memorable.

This year for Fathers Day we went to Scott's restaurant to have lunch. He had to work so we met up with him and he was able to join us for a scrumptious lunch. The kids did surprising well for the first hour and then they were done. If you have ever been to Bouchon it's not a walk in, get your food quick kind of place, especially when you are VIP. They always treat you right and send out way to much food. Eating there is always an EXPERIENCE, which I love, but when you have 2 little ones that will only last an hour you want to speed up the process. Once we were done eating we went to the back kitchen to take a quick tour and show everyone the kids. As we were ready to leave Scott surprised us and said he was taking off the rest of the day to come home with us. That was a treat.

The second part of the day we went over to Scott's parents for a fish taco dinner provided by Kelly & Brian. It was super tasty fresh caught Alaskan halibut. I was bummed because I was so full from lunch that I could only handle a bite. The rest of the night we relaxed in the backyard and watched the kids play and swim in the jacuzzi. The cousins had fun together as usual.

The best thing about our day was actually being able to spend it together. We love Dad and all he does for us. I know he loves his kids and spending time with them is a treasure. We love you dad!

For the LOVE of Trains

On Saturday June 19th we headed to the Costa Mesa mini train track to meet up with our cousins. My aunt has been many times and told us about this awesome place. Its called the Goathill Jct. Railroad. Click HERE if you want to check it out. It's only open to the public 2 days a month and is run by volunteers. They run about 5 to 6 real mini train, some powered by coal and some steam engines. It was amazing, especially since Evan loves trains. The best part is that it is free and you can ride as many times as you want. They ask for donations if possible, so we left them with a nice donation for all the fun we had. We all rode at least once, even little Hannah, but Evan rode about 7 times. He had the time of his life.

Funny, Not so Funny

Yesterday we went my moms work to pick her up. When she got in the car Evan asked grandma where we were going. Grandma told him we were going to the park and Evan replied "oh yeah, that's awesome". My mom and I were cracking up because we have never heard him say awesome before.

Then when we got home from the park Evan followed me inside with some ice cream. I was getting out bowls, turned around and saw him tugging on his pants and singing pants on the ground, pants on the ground. It was hilarious. My dad had just been singing that to Evan when he loaded him up in the car to go to the park. So he must of remembered it. Funny what kids pick up on.

Lately Hannah has been getting really irritated with her brother smothering her and constantly bugging her. So the last few days she has been trying to hit him and scratch him. When she gets really angry she gets this look on her face, yells and tries to smack and grab Evan's arm. I don't blame her for being irritated because the poor girl can't get a minute alone, but violence. I don't know weather to laugh or scold her. Life will definitely be different for her growing up.

4th of July

This 4th of July we were able to go with Aunt Kelly and the kids on Uncle Brian's boat. We had a blast watching fireworks from the Ocean. It was the best view I have ever had with the least amount of noise. It also made me much more secure knowing that sparks weren't going to land and start a fire. (I have a weird fear of fireworks and fires). Evan loved it and Hannah actually stayed awake the whole night to watch the fireworks. The Sum Fun definitely provided us with Tons of Fun this 4th. Thanks Uncle Brain!

We had a great time today at Mia's first birthday party. The kids played and played. There is nothing like being around all the cousins. We LOVE our family.

Super funny small moment of the day: Evan sitting on the couch at Aunt Dawn's cheering on the Lakers. Okay, so I don't really know if he was cheering for the Lakers but we will pretend. Evan had his arms folded over his chest looking at the TV and then he would stop, clap his hands and say Go Go! It was hysterical considering this is not normal behavior since we never have sports on. I know that he learned it from his 6 year old cousin Zach. Zach, who is an intense sports fan, had just been in the room 30 minutes previous doing the same thing. It's funny what kids pick up from each other.

Hannah's 1st Birthday

I cant believe it, my little baby girl turned one on Saturday the 12th. We celebrated her birthday on Wednesday the 9th so dad could be with us. We had a bunch of family over for a fun ladybug bash complete with a bounce house and pinata. I think the kids had the best time playing with all the cousins.

It's already been a year, but I feel like I just gave birth to my little girl. She is so sweet and is a joy to our family. I love so many things about her. She is still so small and weighs 17 pounds. She is also only in the 20th percentile for height. It's funny to even think that she is one because when we go to the park and see other one year olds they are always towering over her. She just learned to crawl the day of her birthday. She is not a pro but tries hard when she really wants to get somewhere. She is developing such personality. She loves to eat and is always eating. We know when she wants more and when she is done. She has developed a strong voice, I guess she needs to compete with her brother somehow. She is a great sleeper and still takes 2 naps a day. She can be a cuddler ever once in a while, which I love. My favorite thing is when she gives a big grin with her 4 teeth.

This morning my sister left to go back to Arizona. I am always sad to see her go because I love the time we spend together. I can honestly say that I enjoy being around my sister more and more as we get older. I think we have come to understand each other and have a much better relationship.

Anyways, the last week has been a blast. We crammed our week full of activities. I am so exhausted right now, but wouldn't have it any other way. I always think the more to do the merrier. (when it comes to having fun)

Our week consisted of 2 days at Disneyland, Hannah's 1st birthday party, shopping, bow making, playing with the kids, going to the swap meet and Lindsey's baby shower.

Here are a few pics to sum up the week.

Here are last weeks small moments

Monday: Hannah swinging on the baby swing for the first time. She had a grin from ear to ear while holding on to the chains. I love her!

Tuesday: Hannah sitting up all by her self on the rides at Disneyland. What a big girl she is.

Evan running down the hill after a lady he though was me. I was yelling Evan I am right here but he was insisting that this lady was me. He was yelling wait MOM wait. Once he grabbed the lady's pant and looked up he realized it was not me and finally turned around to see me standing right there. My mom and I were dying of laughter.

Wednesday: When the kids woke up I was going to change Hannah and Evan ran up with the stool to climb on the changing pad and said "No, go first, Evan go first" Since when did he want his diaper changed first or ever? My little boy is so unpredictable.

Thursday: Evan and Anthony riding the Monsters Inc. ride. When they were done Anthony said that was super fun Grandma. Evan heard Anthony and repeated him. The boys said "Super Fun "the rest of the day.

One minute Evan's shouting All Aboard very loud on the train ride and the next he is asleep in Scott's arm.

Friday: Hannah dropping her cup on the ground and saying uh oh. I was saying uh oh and she was trying to copy the same sound.

Saturday: Evan and Julie June cracking up at each other as JJ swings into Evan while he is eating his pizza crouched on the ground.

Sunday: Hannah waving HI at Grandma. First time I have seen her wave while someone is saying Hi to her.

Scott's 30th Birthday

Yesterday Scott turned 30. He has alaways said if you only live to be 60 you have lived half your life. So yes it was a big day to be remember, however I hope that's not the case because I plan on living pass 60 and need Scott around. I wouldn't be the person I am today without him. He tries to make my life calm and simple when I make Big things out of little things. He teaches me to be a communicator. I am thankful for his happy attitude and love for life. I am thankful that he has a job that he is so passionate about (even though it makes me not want to cook). I am thankful for the Dad that he is to our kids and the sacrifices he has made to be with them. He loves them so much and they adore him. He is Evan's best friend.

Since everyone was telling me that 30 was a big deal I decided to do something special for Scott. I planned an overnight trip to Solvang. It was suppose to be a surprise, but due to other circumstances I had to spill the beans a little early or else he would be stuck at work and our trip would just be a dream.

We stayed at really nice Restaurant, Inn and Spa. We arrived, put our bags in our room and headed out to see the old Danish Town. We stopped in every Bakery we saw and a few Chocolate/Candy stores. We couldn't pass up buying and tasting a variety of treats. After walking around the entire small village it was time for dinner. We ate at the Hotels Restaurant and had one of the best dinners ever. I had a bacon wrapped Pork Chop with a Chutney sauce that was to die for. We then planned to go to a movie and drove to a town 15 miles away, but once we pulled into the parking lot we decided against it. So we ended up at the redbox to rent a DVD. Gotta love redbox. The next day we ended up eating breakfast at the hotel, finished watching our movie and then headed out. We drove around the beautiful Wine Country and visited a small vineyard. It was quaint, but stunning. It was so gorgeous to see all the flowers in bloom for Spring. After our drive we headed back into Solvang to eat lunch, walk around and snap a few pictures. Our trip ended on a high note with a massage at the Spa.

Once we got home our two darling kids were waiting for us outside. We celebrated Scott's birthday with them by opening gifts, singing happy birthday and eating Ice Cream cake (Scott's Favorite). They were so funny to see and Evan loved everything about a "Birthday Party".

The two day trip was amazing. I think I enjoyed it more than Scott. The relaxation of being away from your kids for a moment was refreshing. Don't get me wrong, I missed them but knew they were in good hands with my mom. She was so gracious to offer to watch them while we went away. I had to take her up on the offer because I don't know when we will get the opportunity again. In a few months life will be back to hussel and bussel and less time to see each other, so I am extremely grateful for the opportunity that Scott and I could spend some time alone. Happy Birthday Scott!

My kids are the light of my life. Even though they sometimes make me crazy and make me want to pull my hair out, they are my JOY! I love them so much and couldn't imagine life without them. I feel like sometimes I am to negative about my kids or one in particular and I don't want to look back and remember that, so I have decided that each day I am going to jot down something that one or both of my kids did that day to make me laugh or smile. Because I know that everyday there is that one little moment that I get a kick out of my kids. I would't trade these small moments for the world.

Today we were riding in the car on our way to Target when I decided to turn up the radio. I never listened to music in the car with the kids but for some reason I turned it on. Suddenly a hip hop song boomed in our car. I was about to change it, but suddnley noticed Evan clapping his hands and tapping his feet. He was getting into it, so instead of turning it I thought I would join in on his fun. I started clapping and dancing with him, which Hannah noticed and she started smiling. When I stoped at a light I turned around only to find Hannah clapping along with us. It was the best moment of the day. We clapped, smiled and danced all the way to Target.

These are the small moments that make me LOVE my children EVERYDAY.

New Things

Hannah has been standing for a few weeks with the help of someone, but 2 weeks ago she pulled her self up. We didn't actually see it but got a picture afterward. She was sitting by the open toy chest and grabbed the edges to pull herself up. I guess she really wanted a toy and wasn't willing to wait for anyone to help her get it. She still is not crawling, but likes to stand. Maybe she will be one of those kids who skip crawling and go right to walking.

Another thing she has learned a few weeks ago is how to clap. She loves clapping, especially to her brother dancing and being goofy. Just a few days ago she has learned how to spit. She thinks it is hilarious to spit while she is eating. Her brother thinks it is pretty funny too and has to egg her on. Now I have two little munchkins that spit and crack up at each other every time we eat. I have to admit it is pretty funny and I can't help but laugh even when I am trying to be serious so they will eat.

One joy of being a mother is hearing her kids laugh.

When I went to Arizona we thought we should get all the kids together to take a picture for my mom and dad. Easier said than done! After 30 minutes of excessive perspiration we were able to get 1 good picture out of the kids. We didn't even take more than ten pictures and the kids were done. The lady at Target had her hands full, so when she thought she got one decent shot she was done. I don't blame her, I would have done the same. It's a good thing my mom & dad LOVE their picture, because it might be a while before we try it again.

What we've been up to

We have been busy the month of April. Our month started out at Julie's house in AZ. Scott had to work Easter Sunday so I decided to pack the kids up and go visit my sister for a week. The ride there was awesome. We only had to stop once. The kids were great and we made it there in record time. I know it may sound weird, but there is something relaxing and liberating about driving in a car by myself with my two kids strapped in their car seats. Don't ask me, I can't explain it. It's just something I like.

Our week was jam packed with Easter, parties, activities, pictures, projects, shopping, visiting lots of family, and being apart of my brother Jeremy's engagement. The week was well spent. The kids were good and did much better than expected. Their routine was adjusted, like all vacation, but they handled it pretty well. The best part was that Evan slept on a cot next to me, only getting into my bed twice. (Thanks for the idea Randi)

When we left AZ my sister Julie and baby Devin came back with us. They spent at week with us at my moms house. Again we managed to have a fun week. Baby Devin was really sick, but he was a trooper and we were still able to get in alot of activities.

I love all the time that I was able to spend with my sister. I love the freedom I have to do anything with my kids. I am so blessed to have this year to spend with them. Soon all of this freedom will come to an end, but instead of wallowing in sorrow, I AM choosing to be grateful everyday for what my life is.

Evan's Update

When we moved to my parents we took Evan's crib apart and set up his toddler bed. Scott thought no problem Evan will be fine. Not to my surprise the night was a disaster with Evan waking up several times. I wasn't ready for the big boy bed and sleepless nights with Evan since I was already waking up twice to feed Hannah. It was to much, so I rigged up Kelly's crib tent around the toddler bed. Some may call it cruel, but it was my sanity. Evan did not like being zipped in at first, but soon got used to the idea. He slept well and so did we.

Finally in December I decided to take the crib tent off. It went amazingly well. He stayed in his bed and slept. Things were great for a few weeks. Then he learned to get up and turn the TV on, so I had to make sure it was on video mode which would be a blank blue screen. Next, he started to turn the lights on. Evan had never been afraid of the dark, in fact he slept better when it was really dark, but I went ahead and put in a nightlight. I thought that would work. I had a talk with Evan every night about not turning on the TV or the lights and reminded him of his little nightlight. It worked for a little while, however he soon developed a phobia of the dark. He constantly turns on the lights and TV. He falls asleep to a blue screen and lights on. I turn them off once he falls asleep, but if he wakes up in the middle of the night he freaks out yells "I see dark" and turns them back on.

The once going to bed easy thing is not so easy anymore. It is always a battle to get him to take his nap or go to bed. He yells or wants a movie on. Hopefully this is just a stage and will end soon.

On a much more positive note. Evan is talking much much more these days. He amazes me at the things he knows how to say that I have never heard before or taught him. When we drive in the car he always points things out. We spent a week in Vegas with our friends and he learned about 25 new words just being around Julie June (his 2 1/2 year old friend). He can say just about anyone's name when you tell him what it is, however he still doesn't say his name. Funny. I used to think it was hilarious and odd when kids would say "mom, hold you" instead of "mom, hold me" but Evan is now saying it. I guess it's a natural progression of speech. He has been saying it a lot lately because my poor little guy has been really sick with a double ear infection for a week now. The antibiotics haven't been working so we are returning to the Dr. tomorrow. It has been a long and exhausting week with a very sick child. It's the first time he has every really thrown up and had an ear infection. I will be so glad when this passes.

Evan is fascinated with letters and numbers. He is always saying them when he sees them, even though they are not correct. He is learning his colors and loves to spend time with grandma who works with him. We just finished a mommy and me class at the community center where we sang, danced, listened to books, played instruments, played with a parachute and twirled rainbow streamers (Evan's favorite). We had a good time and Evan is improving his following directions skill. We are signed up to take another class (Paint, Paste, Pour) with his cousin Grayson. It should be a blast.

9 months

My little baby girl turned 9 months last Friday.

I am way behind on blogging but I had to get a picture up with a little note. Sorry for it's length, but this blog has now become my journal and way of documenting all the precious memories. Life goes so fast and I can barely remember some things about Evan as a baby, so my goal for 2010 is to do better documenting. I know its been almost 3 months since my last blog. I haven't been doing so hot, but I am determined now that I received my blog book for all past post from 2008-2009. It is amazing to have a copy all right there in one book. I love it! My intentions are not to bore anyone, so please feel free to skip all text and just look at pictures.

Hannah now has four teeth since her two top teeth have come in. And let me tell you they sure don't feel good when she bites down. She sits up really good, but that's about it. She is not interested in crawling. I put her on her tummy everyday, however she is not a fan, therefore crawling is out of the question. Oh well, one day she will get it. It doesn't really bother me too much because that just means I will have to follow her around all the time. So I guess, take your time Hannah :)

Hannah has turned into a pretty good eater and is now even eating all my homemade baby food. Good thing because I thought it was going to have to go to waste. She has also stated eating cheerios and loves to pick them up, which has made her a much happier camper while sitting in her highchair. I have also found her brother handing her various food items such as cookies, crackers, quesadilla, berries, and other foods while I am not looking. She always seems to enjoy them, however we have had to have little talks with Evan about feeding his sister. I don't want the day to come when she breaks out in some kind of reaction or chokes because he gave her a piece of food.

I wouldn't call Hannah a smile all the time happy baby, but she does smile big when she wants to. She is more of the serious kind. I guess it runs in the genes. I love spending time alone with her even if it is a few short minutes. It is hard to give all of your attention to one child when they aren't the only child but I am glad to have them both. I couldn't imagine life without my little girl. She has a totally different personality than Evan. She is very attached to me and has a hard time being held by others. I swear she knows my scent. It is the weirdest thing. Hannah is going to have the hardest time when I go back to work this fall and she has to go to a babysitter. It is going to break my heart, but at least Scott will be the one to drop her off. I am not looking forward to that day. I have loved spending everyday with my kids the last 9 months.

Seriously, where has the time gone. My babies are growing up. Since my kids birthdays are only a month apart I have decided to do seperate and combined pictures every year. I like to document every six months to see how they have changed. This picture session went way better than any others we have done. Even though Hannah wasen't smiling (which seems typically for my kids) Evan was actually cooperating, which made life much easier. I had a hard time choosing a few, so here are a bunch.

On Saturady, Dec. 19th we had our annual Davison Christmas Party at my parents house. Oh what memories I have growing up enjoying our family Christmas Eve Party at my G&G Davison's house. We are now past that time, with Grandma passing and Grandpa living with us, but we still feel the need to keep the tradition alive somehow. Each year the house and day have changed, but having the family all together is what is important. Now that we are grown up it is so fun to see all of our kids enjoy thier cousins as much as we did during the hoilday season.

A couple of weeks ago when Scott had a day off we decided to go to Disneyland. Okay, well we didn't decide, I decided for us. Scott was not to thrilled. He said "Haven't we gone enough", but I had to tell him that we must go back to see Small World. I really wanted Evan to be able to ride Small World while it was decorated for Christmas and ever other time we have gone it has been way to busy. So we went just for 2 hours to ride Small World and Buzz Lightyear. We also stopped at tomorrow land to go in the moving building with the newest technology, which by the way was not exciting and will never be entered again by us. The trip was short and we accomplished what I was set out to do. Like usually, I never go without my camera and had to snap a few shots. Enjoy!

Most of you have probably received our Christmas Card and saw our family pictures. My brother-in law Shawn has always been into photography and has recently been developing his talent and passion by taking family pictures. He and his family were in town for Thanksgiving and he so generously offered to take our family photo. I knew it was going to be a rough and quick shoot with Evan, so I prepared myself to go with the flow. I just wanted to be able to get 1 family photo. Of course Evan was being difficult, but I am happy to say that Shawn was able to capture quite a few great shots. We are so thankful for Uncle Shawn and his talent and his willingness to take our pictures. Thanks Uncle Shawn!

Hannah Eating

We are still having a hard time trying to get Hannah to eat. She would rather talk, gag and spit it out. I have tried a few different combinations because she does not like the cereal plain, but I know she needs it for the iron. She did eat a little cereal with bananas the other day but still made a lot of gross faces. I know I need to just keep trying each day so that she will figure it out. The other day before I fed her she picked up one of Evan's big sourdough pretzels and sucked all the salt off. She seemed to really like it and would have probably tried to eat it if I let her. Hannah just turned 6 months old yesterday. Where has the time gone? I can't believe my little girl is getting so big and changing so much. She already has 2 bottom teeth coming through. Hannah is learning new things all the time and I love being able to stay home and watch each new milestone that she reaches. In the last month she has learned to sit up by herself, grab and play with her feet, grab all kinds of toys which go directly to her mouth and her favorite thing is to watch her brother. They actually play together in a way and it's kinda funny. Evan loves her and always ask to hold her. He also likes to tickle her and copy the sounds she makes.Hannah is pretty ticklish these days if u get her in the right spot. She will even laugh out loud sometimes. It is so cute. There is something about a little baby's laugh that is so precious.

I wanted to wait till Hannah was 6 months old to try and feed her food. So today was the day. I decided I might as well try even though only breastfeeding for a year would be great, but I knew she was ready to eat something, or so I thought. I tried to give her cereal with breast milk and of course it was very weird to her. I tried a couple of times but she was just not having it. The funny thing is that she opened her mouth every time and tried and grabbed for the spoon but she would just spit the cereal right back out. That's alright I kinda expected it to go that way, so we will keep trying.

I just want to say that I LOVE my little girl and I couldn't imagine life without her. She is such a JOY.

MORE Disneyland

Since we have had season passes to the Happiest Place on Earth we try to take advantage of them. We have gone 6 times in the past 2 months. Not bad, they have already paid themselves off. These are pictures from 2 different trips recently. One with my mom and one time when we met our friends Kendra and Julie June. Disneyland is always a blast.

This trip we decided to meet our friends at California Adventure because Disneyland was sooo crowded. We started our adventure with the High School Musical parade. Evan actually loved it.

Pumpkin Patch

We got home from Arizona the day before Halloween so that we could spend Halloween with Scott. It was one of his few days off. He wanted to carve a pumpkin with Evan, so we planned to go to the pumpkin patch. The first one we went to by J Serra was closed so then we headed off to Zoomaras pumpkin patch. It was definitely a sad site with no one around and only a few pumpkins left. I guess that's what you get when you go on Halloween day. Good thing there was a large sand box with lots of toys that Evan could play with or this trip would have been a total bust. We couldn't leave without buying one of the small sad looking pumpkins, however we did get it at half off. We had all intentions of carving it, but then we went trick or treating and the kids & Scott were way to tired so the pumpkin got set aside. The poor thing is still sitting outside my parents front door rotting away. I guess maybe we will try next year.

Schnepf Farm

When we were in Arizona there is this family farm that you can go to in October for rides, pumpkins and food. We took the kids and met up with Amber and Carter to check it out. We had fun riding the carousel, bumble bees and airplanes. The kids played on the playground and rode trikes. We bought tickets to go on train around the farm but the line was so long and it was cold so we passed. We ended the night eating chili dogs and grilled corn on the cob. Of course Evan only had chips and a brownie for diner. YUM :) These are a few pictures from the night.

Most of you know that my little girl has to wear a bow or flower everyday no matter what. I know I might be cruel but its like the saying "It hurts to be beautiful" plus people need to know that she is a girl. Because of this Hannah has quite the collection of hair accessories. She has a wide variety from many different people. Some of our favorites are from sweet Aunt Lily. She just sent us some new headbands this week and we were so excited to see them. Lily is very creative and makes Hannah some of the cutest felt flower headbands. We love them and we love you Aunt Lily. Thanks a bunch :)

A New Man

My little boy now has a big man haircut. I have been wanting to cut it short for a long time but have never braved it because it would be so differnt (and Scott might have a fit). Well I broke down at my brothers in Arizona and it was worth it. Cory gave him a great haircut and it was quick and painless. Cory said I was not allowed to be in there watching so that Evan could relax. So these are some pictures of the aftermath. He looks like a big boy and thankfully he has no more old man combover.

After 2 different hospital visits and 43 hours later baby Devin was born. We were all thinking that baby Devin and I would be sharing a birthday, however he decided he wanted his own day by exactly 2 hrs. He was born Oct. 24 at 2am, weighing 7 lbs. 2oz. I am glad to say that Julie is doing well after a long battle of pain and suffering. I was so honored to be there to witness such a sweet miracle, and not to be the one enduring the pain. Congats Julie and JC. We love You!

Disneyland

Finally dad was able to join us for a day at Disneyland. We had a blast together as a family and Evan loved being with his dad. We couldn't ask for better with lines only fifteen minutes per ride at the most. Hannah rode all the rides with us and I just covered her eyes on the scary ones. That's what is so great about Disneyland, it truly is for everyone. We had so much fun together that I wasn't concerned about about using the camera to take pictures. It was kind of nice. And I didn't feel bad that we weren't there all day and only rode half the rides because we now have passes.Disneyland was fun and festive with Halloween stuff so I decided I had to snap one on our way out in front of the pumpkin. (This is for you Julie). We can't wait to go again and hope that it will be as perfect as this day with few people and small lines.

New House, New Routine

Yes, I know I am way behind on my blog. Moving this last month has been crazy deciding what to save, trash, put in storage or take to my parents. Finally I feel semi normal. We have finally got ourselves into a little routine at grandma & grandpa's, with minor changes here and there. Life seems so different now that I am not working. I try to get the kids out of the house everyday but actual getting out at a decent time is still a work in progress. I feel like we can never really be out before 10 am. Sad I know. I have yet to do any outings with friends and their kids but hopefully after I get back from a 2 week stay in Arizona I will see some of them. (Julie is having her baby next week, that's why I'll be gone till the end of October.)

I decided I should just update now and go back later to post some summer pictures. Hannah is getting so big and doing new things all the time. Her day and night schedule are much different than even a month ago. She is waking up to eat more at night and sleeps different times throughout the day. No more once awake at night and a three hour nap during the day. I am a little more tired than before but nothing like with Evan, plus I don't have to work so it doesn't really matter. I have a hard time forcing my babies to a certain schedule and when they are so little I know their body and schedules change. The biggest thing I have learned the last couple of months with a 2 year old, a newborn and our crazy moving schedule is that you learn to be flexible and adjust whenever necessary. I know that I and anyone else can do anything if we allow changes into our life and then adjust accordingly. If we keep pushing against the change we make our life a whole lot more stressful than it needs to be.

With all that said I am posting a few pictures of Hannah's new daily activities.

Sunday turned out to be a nightmare. Scott left early in the morning to go help our good friends move, so I was left alone with the kids. No big deal right, I do it everyday. Well this day turned out a little different. I was upstairs bathing and changing Hannah while Evan was downstairs watching T.V.. It sounded so quiet I thought I better go check on Evan. When I got downstairs I was horrified to see my entire couch covered in BLACK PERMANENT MARKER. I lost it! I was so upset that my couch was ruined. It was on every cushion and every armrest, so I couldn't just turn over the cushions and call it good. I was in need of HELP. I called Scott and he said you can't do anything. I called my mom to see what to do, but she didn't answer. I decided I would spray carpet cleaner on it. I let it sit for a while and then tried to rub it out. It didn't work so I looked on line to see what to do. They recommended using rubbing alcohol. Thankfully I had some and tried that. With half a bottle of alcohol and a lot of work I was able to remove the stains, however I still had to turn over the cushions. I know your thinking how did Evan get a permanent marker, trust me I was thinking the same thing. I looked all over and realized that he opened a junk drawer that had no lock on it. We usually lock everything up but when we were packing to move Scott transferred the junk drawer. OOPS.

Later that day Evan dumped a whole container of animal crackers on the floor. I asked him to pick them up and he refused so I put him in time out. He then told me he would so he walked over to the mess and started to pick up two, which made me believe he was going to pick them all up. I headed to the bathroom and the next thing I heard was the vacuum. So naturally I went to see what was up. Evan had pulled the small hand vac from the corner of our bedroom into the hallway and was on his knees with both hands sucking up all of the crackers. It definitely gave me a laugh so I had to snap a picture. You can tell he has seen us do this many times before :)

My day was crazy and I hope not to ever have that experience again.

Hannah's Baby Blessing

Hannah was blessed Sunday September 2, 2009. We were very happy to have my mother and all of my siblings and their spouses join us for the special event. It is not often that I get to be with all of my brothers and sisters. Scott gave a sweet and loving blessing. And because it was fast Sunday I felt inspired to share my testimony (which I haven't done since High School). Thanks to my dear mother we were able to enjoy sacrament for once. Evan had a melt down the minute we got to church so Grandma sacrificed her time and hung out with Evan in the back of the cultural hall.

The dress that Hannah is wearing was worn by my Grandma Bones when she was blessed as a baby. It was very simple and delicate, but she looked beautiful. We were honored that grandma gave it Hannah, her first great granddaughter.

Thank You to everyone who came and we missed those who were not able to make it :)

Picture Disaster

So I tried to get pictures taken at Target of the 2 kids together, but had no luck. Evan was not about to take pictures with his sister or by himself. He was way too distracted by all of the props in the OPEN closet they had, so we ended up with pictures of Hannah by herself. I was not that impressed by the pictures or the session but I had to buy a few because I knew we would not be venturing back their for a long time. And I needed some pictures of Hannah before she got to big. With Evan I went the first week to get pictures & with her I wanted to wait till her coloring wasn't yellow but then she broke out with baby acne. I finally decided acne or not I had to get some pics. I tried to select the ones that didn't show her acne, however it was hard to choose in her tutu because her chest was showing. I really wanted a color picture of her in her super cute tutu but ended up with a sepia one to mask her complexion (and the white background that I wasn't a fan of). I also wished she had a different outfit on in the pictures by herself because the shirt keep getting in the way, but I choose it so she would match Evan. AHH, Oh well what do you do. Two year olds and pictures don't really mix. I need to have someone who is willing to run around with my child, not a please sit here and be still kind of pose. Well enough of my complaining, I am sure others have had similar experiences with children and pictures. Here are a few that turned out okay.

LAZY DAYZ

Summer is not complete unless you have water. In Vegas we love to cool off in the water wherever we can find it. The pool, the park, the lazy river and sometimes our backyard. Grandma Robin & Grandpa Rich have a time share in Vegas and have come up a few times this summer to enjoy it and we are always thrilled when we get to enjoy it with them. This trip they brought Abby and it was so fun to see Abby and Evan play together. Although Abby was taking time away from her 2 year old brother that didn't stop her from acting like a big sister to Evan. They both loved the lazy river and pool. Abby wasn't as big of a fan of the waterfalls as Evan. I tried my best to stay clear of them when she was in my tube. We had such a fun day and it was so cute when we walked back to the room and Abby wanted to hold Evan's hand. I was totally surprised he was so willing to walk with Abby. In the very last picture Evan was saying NO and Abby said "Yeah, we don't want any pictures huh!" however the little darling was smiling for the camera the whole time. She is too funny.

Our Sweet Girl

Oh how all babies are so different. We love our sweet little girl, but she is sooo different than Evan. She is so little and petite. She never smiles, Usually she has a pout and she is not very strong. When you hold her up she never stands but rather throws her legs back like she is flying. Evan was always smiling and standing very early on. But one very nice thing about her is that she sleeps at night, only waking up every 3 to 4 hours. I know this might not seem great, but trust me, its wonderful compared to how Evan used to sleep. Oh the joys of motherhood. I don't know why I am so surprised that our children are different, that would be too easy and we all know life is not predictable. Oh well, its fun to see our babies change everyday. I wonder what our Hannah will be like when her personality shines. (I hope mellow :)

Evan's Birthday Bash

On Monday July 6th we celebrated Evan's 2nd birthday with his friend Julie June. We had a pool party at our friend Kendras. Scott got everything set up really nice for a BBQ, however an hour later we were kicked out of the pool because the pool was too dirty. We had to head back to Kendra's house for the remainder of our party. We had fun with lots of friends from Bracken. Our theme was Ocean, so Scott made a very cool Nemo cake that the kids loved. I was totally surprised that Evan ate it because he usually never eats cake. The kids got lots of neat gifts and wanted to play with them. Evan really wanted to play with Julie's pink horse n carriage. The kid is fascinated with pink girl toys, oh well what do you do.

The day was full of excitement and we were all ready for a nap by two. Evan was especially cranky, but I think part of it was because he got stung by a wasp at the pool and we knew it really hurt him. Even after all the minor hiccups we ran into the party was still a hit. Thanks to everyone for coming and helping!

Happy 4th of July

For the 4th this year we went to my grandmas in Henderson to meet my dad and uncle. We decided to head to the Henderson Fireworks Celebration. There were a lot of vendors and rides. Evan was dying to go on the bounce house slide but he was to small, so we listened to him scream until dad bought him a snow cone. Once the fireworks started he forgot why he was ever crying. He loved the show and we knew it by his facial expressions (which always tells all) and all the WOWs. We had a blast.

BABY HANNAH

Wow! It has already been 2 weeks with our new baby girl. We have loved spending time as a family for the last 2 weeks. Evan loves his sister and although he sometimes ignores her, he does give her a kiss everyday. When she crys he says baby and wants to go see her. He also climbs up on the stool in front of her changing pad to say HI to her in the morning. We love to see them together and hope that they will have a strong bond.

Well, for all of you who don't know Hannah entered the world on Friday June 12th at 5:43pm. She was 7lbs. 8 oz. and 19 inches. I went into the hopital at 5 am to be induced. Things seemed to be going a lot better this time than my first time with Evan. Halfway through my labor the nurse was acting a little funny and wasn't saying anything. She brought in an ultrasound machine and did an ultrasound and then left and brought back another nurse who did the same thing. That's when my nurse told me that Hannah was breech. I just lost it. They told me that they would call the dr. and see what to do but that I was most likely going to have a C section. I was scared and did not want to have surgery. My mom and Scott were trying to calm me down and Scott asked the nurse to leave so that he could give me a blessing. As he was giving me a peaceful blessing my dr. walked in. He is LDS and felt the spirit in the room. He knew I did not want to have a C section so he did everything he could to move Hannah. After what seemed like the most painful part of my labor the dr. was able to move her head down. I was then straped around my stomach to keep her in place. I am so grateful for my husbands blessing and the power of the priesthood. And for my dr. who helped Hannah to move back in place. I was told by so many nurses and people that doctors usually never try to move a baby once you are in labor because of the risk, however my dr, said his hands were guided and I know they were.
I will never forgot this special day that you, Hannah Louise Wheatfill, were born. We love you and are so blessed that you are apart of our family.

New Due Date

So my due date moved up to the 15th of June. I know it is only 3 days earlier, but I'll take whatever I can get at this point. I am not exactly trying to rush having Hannah and I haven't even really thought about giving birth again with all the stuff I have to do, but it is starting to get uncomfortable and my stomach feels huge. I hate feeling like I can't bend over or carry Evan up the stairs. I still haven't decided if I am going to be induced or just wait for Hannah to come. Scott wants me to schedule it, I guess I'll just wait to talk to my dr. on Monday or decide later once the comfort level is unmanageable. We have so many changes going on this summer but we are excited for baby Hannah to get here. We hope that Evan will love her just as much :)

Easter Break

So I am way behind on keeping my Blog up. Facebook is just so much easier to upload pictures, however I know that I need to do this for my mom since she is not a user of facebook.

Easter Break was a blast. I drove to CA with Evan on Monday and spent the whole week at my parents. Evan had a great time with his grandma that spoils him. He also enjoyed fun times at the park and at Grandma Robin & Grandpa Rich's house. We were so excited that dad could take off a couple days of work to meet us in CA.

Our trip really started on Tuesday with a day at the Children's Science Discovery Museum, which Evan enjoyed running around and grandma chasing him. (I was way to tired to run around). Then on Wednesday we went shopping, played at the park and mom threw me a baby shower. It was so fun to see all of my friends at the same time.On Thursday Scott and I went to Beverly Hills to see the new restaurant. Then we went out to eat at Mozza, which was a fun treat. We ate great food and were treated like VIP. I guess it pays off when you throw out your name and line of work. On Friday we went to California Adventure Land, thanks to mom and dad. Then on Saturday we went to an Easter Egg Hunt with Aunt Kelly and the kids. Evan was much more thrilled about the park than the egg hunt. Finally to end the day went to Grandma & Grandpa W's to eat dinner and dye eggs. Evan had a blast and ended up with blue fingers. That's what happens when your 21 months.

Gym Class

So, my friend Randi signed up her little girl and Evan to be in a gymnastics class together. I said sure, that sounds like fun, plus it will get Evan out of the house. Well I didn't know what I got myself into until after the first class. I love my dear sweet boy, but OH BOY he can be a handful. He doesn't really know the concept of structured activities where you have to listen to a teacher and play follow the leader. He thought it was much better to run and do whatever he wanted. By the end of the first class I was so tired from running after him that it felt like I had gone to the gym for an hour. I do have to say that he does love the class and can't wait to get in the door, which makes us keep going. Maybe by the 8th class (as long as he doesn't put me into labor) he will be a little more used to the idea of structured activities. The last two classes have gone better with the help of my mother and friends. Even if Evan does one little thing better each week I call it a success. So, my sister Julie is pregnant. Congrats to her and JC. All three girls in the family pregnant at the same time. WOW! I am sure my parents are ecstatic. They went from no grandchildren to 5 in 2 years. I know it will be fun when all the cousins are the same age growing up. Grandma & Grandpa will have fun spoiling them. Hopefully they won't get to sick of kids when Scott and I move there. Thankfully my mom was blessed with the gift of patience.

Evan loves our babysitters sandbox, so Scott built Evan a sandbox in the backyard. He got creative and turned the inside of the lid into a chalkboard. Evan loves to play in it. He also loves to play outside of the box and throw rocks into it. Every time we take him out to go back inside he throws a fit. What can I say he loves the outdoors.

So, I know that a lot of you already know, but it's official. We are having a GIRL! (Hannah Louise Wheatfill) I had an ultrasound in California at 15 weeks and the lady said we were having a girl but that she couldn't say 100% for sure. So, I decided to wait until my 20 week ultrasound to get the official news and tell everyone. You never know, a girl could turn into a boy, however I still had a gut feeling that it was a girl. I am excited and I think I have gotten used to the idea. My kids at school said "What if it comes out a boy," and I replied with "That will be just fine because I already have all the stuff necessary for a boy." Scott is very excited to have one of each and said that I probably would have been sad if I found out it was a boy instead. I don't know, all I know is that a healthy baby is what I want.

So, I didn't win the double stroller giveaway. Now I must buy one. So the last couple of weeks I have been looking every night on Craig's list, eBay and Amazon for a Phil and Teds. I found a few, but they were already sold or I was outbid. Scott thought I was wasting to much time on the computer, which I was, so he told me to just buy one from Amazon. We finally decided on buying the new Vibe and we can't wait to get it. It has a lot of new cool features and it will go to great use with 2 kids.

Grandam's Birthday

So, Christmas is over. We had a good time with lots going on, but we missed Dad who had to stay in Vegas to work. On Saturday Dec. 27 was my moms birthday. Mom wanted the kids to have fun, so we all went to Knotts Berry Farm. Evan had a blast and loved the rides and the Snoopy on ice show. I even bought him a laser sword. I am a sucker for light up theme park toys. The best part of the whole day was watching my mom and dad take Evan and Anthony on the cars. Evan smiled around ever turn and Anthony looked like he was going to throw up. The pictures are classic, you'll know what I am talking about when you see them. HAPPY BIRTHDAY grandma, we love you!

SNOW!

Yes folks, it does snow in Las Vegas. Today it started snowing on my way to work and snowed all day, however only in the West. On my way to pick up Evan I noticed the snow getting thicker the farther northwest I got. It was so FUN, it felt like Christmas. And only a few days ago it was in the 80's. Once I got to the babysitters they had the most snow. They measured 8 inches in some places of their backyard. Evan was out playing in the snow most of the day and was mad at Paula when she brought him inside. So, I decided to stay another hour and let Evan play outside with his friend Michael. Scott didn't take a hat or gloves over to Paula's, so she let Evan borrow some big ones. It was pretty funny because the hat keep rolling over his eyes, but at least he kept it all on. Today was a good memory and hopefully Evan will get to see snow again soon.

Sweet SANTA

This year our picture with Santa was not so great. I knew Evan would have a rough time so we were never planning on seeing a Santa for a picture, but when we were in Wal-Mart a guy told Scott about free pictures with Santa. I figured a free picture won't hurt and at least he will have the experience. So we traveled to the garden section of Wal-Mart and as you can see they had a sweet Santa set-up. HA HA. We defintley know coca cola was paying for the free picture. I guess that's what you get when it's free.

G&G Smiths 60th Anniversary

A few weeks ago we all fly to Salt Lake for Grandma and Grandpas 60th Anniversary. Amazing huh! G&G invited us all for a dinner at the Lion House. We had a good dinner, saw all the cousins, and got to reminisce over G&G Smiths life. The next day we went to G&Gs for lunch. The kids played on the swing set and we all picked Grandpa's apples to eat. Evan has never eaten a full apple, but he was determined to eat it. He kept dropping it and eating the dirt and the seeds so I threw it in the bushes. Boy, was he mad at me. Mom is no FUN! Well, before we left I thought we should get a picture of us with G&G, considering it is his only pair of great grandparents alive. We had a fun quick trip. Thanks to everyone who made it possible :)

My Fabulous (Early) Christmas Gift

So, I was so excited when I came home last night because my Cricut expressions machine was waiting for me by the door. I couldn't wait to open it and try it out. I had to first make poor Evan sit with me and watch the instructional video. He was not too thrilled. The machine is amazing and I can't wait to start scrapbooking again when I feel better. I even bought 2 cartridges at Micheals last week for 29.99. For those of you that know that is a fabulous deal. Well anyways just wanted to share my great news. (Thanks for the Birthday/Christmas gift Scott.)

So today is Thanksgiving and I thought it was appropriate to tell everyone the things that I am thankful for.

1. First of all I am thankful for my Heavenly Father and our Savior Jesus Christ. Without them nothing on my list would be possible.
2. I am without a doubt so thankful for my family. My husband is my constant rock and reminds me that life should be fun and not so stressful. My son is my happy little independent soul that makes me smile daily. My mom, what can I say, is the greatest most patient and giving person I have ever meet. My dad is a supporter. My siblings are all special and unique in there own way and have taught me many lessons in life. I am indeed grateful for all of my in-laws and their talents and ability to always have a good time.
3. I am thankful to be be living in a free country and to be afforded all the rights that our fore fathers have set forth.
4. I am thankful for my education and the knowledge I have to be a good teacher. I am so glad that I can have a job that I love.

These are the things that impact me everyday and have helped me to be the person that I am. Please don't forget to tell your family and friends what you are thankful for.
